The town of Dapoli in the Ratnagiri district is known for its excellent natural resources, as well as, the names of many great people who have made extraordinary achievements in the fields of freedom-fighting, education, social and culture. Realizing the lack of courses promoting employment and self-employment in this city, we established the Distinctive Education Society in the year 2004 to provide higher education for such courses. Keeping in view the increasing demand for trained manpower in the field of nursing, our organization started two diploma courses namely A.N.M. in the year 2005 and G.N.M. in 2011, Eventually, in the year 2022-23, B.Sc.(Nursing) and in 2023-24Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)degree courses were started. Hundreds of needy students from rural areas are studying these courses today. Apart from providing excellent educational facilities, we are making sincere efforts for the all-round personality development of students. The guidance and support of the Government of Maharashtra, Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik, Central and State Nursing Councils people’s representatives, educationists, and well-informed parents have rendered valuable guidance and support to us in these endeavors. On behalf of the organization, I express my heartfelt thanks to all of them.

The progress made in the last 19 years has increased the trust of the society in the organization and the expectations have also been raised. We are committed to accomplishing that. We request everyone to continue to cooperate as they have done so far.

It has been nineteen years since the establishment of the Distinctive Education Society in Dapoli, Dist.  Ratnagiri. During this period, many needy students have taken advantage of the various courses offered by the Institute and started moving towards a bright future. Meanwhile, the College has developed significantly and is fulfilling the desire of many aspiring and needy young people, not only from Dapoli and Konkan but also from cities like Mumbai and Pune to get higher education. I have witnessed the progress made by the College in the last nineteen years and the society’s expectations from the Institution have increased.
